Kids Internet Addiction
kids_internet_addictionParents usually  install the Internet into their homes to  open up an exciting new world of educational facilities for their children. However, many parents soon understand that, instead of using the Internet for homework or research, their kids were spending hours messaging with their friends, playing online games or talking to strangers in chat rooms.

Adolescents often have a cybersexual addiction. They usually spend time downloading, viewing or trading online pornography. They may also participate in adult fantasy or role-play chat rooms, typically with people much older than themselves.

These children may also be lured to send pornographic videos or pictures of themselves to other online users. Parents are usually not aware that there is a problem until it becomes serious. It is easy to hide Internet addiction and because it is not universally recognized by the medical community.

Children can easily become looped on online activities such as multi-user games, instant messaging, pornography and chat rooms. The ones who are unpopular or shy with peers are often attracted to the opportunities for creating new identities in online communities.

Boys, in particular, are frequent users of online role-playing games, where they assume new identities and interact with other players. Although playing these games with thousands of other users may appear to be a social activity, for the introverted child or teen, excessive playing can further isolate them from friends and peers.
