Do You Have a Food Addiction?

1. Has anyone ever told you that you have a problem with food?
2. Do you think food is a problem for you?
3. Have you ever wanted to stop eating and found you just couldn't?
4. Do you binge and then "get rid of the binge" through vomiting, exercise, laxatives, or other forms of purging?
5. Do you eat large amounts of high calorie food in a short period of time?
6. Do you obsessively calculate the calories you've burned against the calories you've eaten?
7. Do you find yourself fearful of gaining weight?
8. Do you eat when you are disappointed, tense or anxious?
9.  Do you think about food or your weight constantly?
10. Can you stop eating without a struggle after one or two sweets?
11. Do find yourself preoccupied with gaining weight?
12. Has being overweight ever affected any part of your life?
13. Do you weigh yourself once or twice (or more) a day?
14. Do you eat more than you planned to eat?
15. Do you eat to escape from your feelings?
16. Have you ever discarded food, only to retrieve and eat it later?
17. Have you ever hidden food to make sure you have "enough?"
18. Have you ever felt angry when someone ate food you saved for yourself?
19. Do you worry that you can’t control how much you eat? 
 20. Have you felt frantic about your size, shape or weight?
21. Do you find yourself attempting one diet or food plan after another, with no lasting success?
22. Have you ever felt so ashamed of the amount you eat that you hide your eating?
23. Have you been so upset about the way you eat that you wished you would die?
 24. Do you overeat more than twice a week?
25. Have you ever stolen other people's food?
26. Do you eat differently in private than you do in front of other people?
27. Do you seek out companions who eat the way you do?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then you may be a food addict.
